Every now and again, you stumble across a perfume house that sticks to the basics but adds a touch of funk.

Enter Maison Matine: a decidedly French perfume house focusing on simplicity, quality raw materials, and playful visual art to make perfumery less sober, more fun.

Founded by Arthur Ponroy and Marie Kellou in 2019, Maison Matine has released a series of so-called ‘Graphic Perfumes’ that brings niche perfumery closer to art than ever before. The olfactory-visual symbiosis, coupled with the brand’s strict sustainability policy, makes Maison Matine perfumes impossible to resist; the chic perfumes are art objects to be worn and collected.

The idea behind Kaffeeform was developed in 2009, fuelled by the intention to create a sustainable material that aims to take advantage of coffee grounds, a waste material readily available, to become an alternative to plastics.

In 2015, after five years of experimentation and investigation, Kaffeeform finally had it – a unique formula to upcycle old coffee into new, beautifully designed products. The iconic Kaffeeform Cups were born. Kaffeeform diverts old coffee grounds and beechwood scraps from landfills and upcycle them into their signature material compositions — which are then transformed into durable, robust, and sustainable designs for everyday use.

The use of renewable, plant-derived materials and bio-based polymers offer the same advantages of robust plastic – functionality and durability, minus the nasty petroleum-based ingredients and their impact on our health and our planet. The brand has taken the concept of circularity to a new level: granting renewable resources – that would have ended up in the trash – a second life by transforming them into beautiful everyday objects.
